The beginning was a slow start for me. You’re introduced to the characters and their lives before reuniting in the small town they grew up in. At times I struggled to connect with someone of the characters, especially Joey. As the story progressed, the more I became engaged. I found myself wanting to protect Joey, Elena, and Sophie. Along with the magic. It starts to pick up and I couldn’t put the book down. Did I stay up super late to finish? Yes, yes I did. It was so worth it! I didn’t see the twist. That was a crazy ride!
The narrator was really good. Made listening to the audiobook pleasant and engaging.
If you’re a fan of thrillers and small town, this book is for you. I look forward to reading other books by this author.
