Genre: Erotic Suspense

Roses are red, violets are blue.

Now you must join me, too.

Obsession is a word that’s followed me since the day I met her. I’m not too ashamed to admit it flows through my veins. I, of all people, realise how dangerous that can be.

I may have escaped, but no matter how much I run, she’s there, reminding me of what I did…what I miss. Even in death, she haunts me. If losing her wasn’t enough, I constantly have to live with her inside my head during the day, in my dreams at night.

She’s punishing me. It’s what she does best. Even gone, her claws sink deep into my skin.

I thought it was over.
I was wrong.
It seems Scarlet’s not quite done with me yet.

Warning: There are scenes – as in the previous book, Siren – which may trigger those sensitive to sexual abuse.

Please note: Book Two in the Siren series is not a standalone. Reading Siren beforehand will definitely enhance your reading experience of My Valentine.

Unputdownable! Dark and devious!

A sequel to Siren? YES PLEASE! From the start I was pulled into the story. I was intrigued and couldn’t read fast enough. The pacing is good. The author slowly builds suspense and will have you on the edge of your seat. Let’s talk about those hot scenes. Like forbidden fruit. You’re not supposed to like it but you do anyway. Not sorry! As the plot unfolds, my suspicions are proven right and that ending…..WOW!! I am not disappointed.

This book isn’t for everyone because of the content. I truly enjoyed it. I am a huge fan of the author’s writing and storytelling. I know I’m in for a great read when I grab a Jaimie Roberts book. If you like dark and taboo, this book and Siren is for YOU! Add this to you TBR. I give this 5 stars.

Title: Surrender the Dead: A Novel

Author: John Burley

“John Burley has an eye for detail, a feel for story, and a deep sympathy for his characters.”  — Lou Berney, award-winning author of November Road

Dark and twisted. This book will haunt you long after you’ve finished.

A town haunted by its past. The ghosts of the past are everywhere. Right from the beginning, I was pulled into the story. It has a dark haunting vibe to it. The pacing is a little slow in some places but not enough to deter me from the story. As the story progresses, you can feel something building and you just know it’s going to shake you to your core. With the many twists and turns the author threw in there, I was both surprised and delighted at the ending. The author did not disappoint!

This is a new to me author. I really enjoyed his writing and storytelling style. Great suspense! I can’t wait to see more from this author. If you love suspense and those thrilling books, this one is for YOU! Grab your copy today! I give this 5 stars.

A sensational read!

I was not ready for this book. The story is thought provoking and the message is powerful. The topics such as race, religion and rape aren’t easy topics to write but the author did a wonderful job in blending them all into the story. Many emotions were felt as I was reading. A lot of it was anger. I also felt hope. There are different points of views and opinions, sure to get you thinking. The pacing is good. You’re kind of jumping around through different characters. There are many twists and turns. I didn’t see that ending coming, which kind of left me speechless. Bravo Miss Abdullah!

I did not expect this book to pull me in the way it did. I didn’t put it down. It consumed me. There was a sense of urgency to get to the end. The pacing of the story is great. I was engaged the whole way through. It’s very well written. The characters were interesting and a bit sinister. I really liked Chrissy. I probably wasn’t supposed to but I hardly follow the rules. There is way more to her than people know. That ending….mind blown! I did not see that coming.

Alice: The Wanderland Chronicles #1 by J.M. Sullivan – My Review

Title: Alice: The Wanderland Chronicles #1

Author: J.M. Sullivan

Release Date: March 20th 2020

Genre: Young Adult, Sci-Fi

Alice Carroll hardly remembers life before the plague. When the undead first crawled from their graves, it was like a nightmare. When they killed her mother, the nightmare became shockingly real. Now her sister Dinah has contracted the ‘un-deadly’ virus and without a cure, soon she’ll be worse than dead.

She’ll be Momerath.

Chasing a rumor about a mysterious doctor with a cure, Alice falls down the rabbit hole into Wanderland, where ravenous Momerath aren’t the only danger lurking.

Alice is a fabulous twist on a classic we all love. One of my favorite things about this book is that its set in Arizona! Ah its the little things. The story is both entertaining and unique with some really great characters. I didn’t like all of them. You’ll know why once you read the book. Going in I wasn’t sure what to expect, seeing as the author put a dystopian twist on a classic. It totally worked and blew my mind! Theres also a ton of scenes that will get your pulse racing! Danger, suspense and action oh my! The twists that were revealed gave me the chills. I did not see any of that coming!

This is a wonderful read from beginning to end. Did I binge read this book? Yes I did. Its that good! I can’t wait to read the next one. I give this 5 stars!
