When the Wind Chimes by Mary Ting – My Review

Title: When the Wind Chimes

Author: Mary Ting

Release Date: November 16th 2020

Genre: Holiday Fiction

SOMETIMES ANGELS COME IN HUMAN FORM.

Kaitlyn Summers is heartbroken.

When she receives an invitation to spend Christmas with her family on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, she feels it may be the perfect medicine.

She throws herself into helping her sister’s struggling art gallery, even taking a temporary job for extra money by looking after a little girl from her nephew’s school. She also begins to paint again, something she’s been unable to do since her breakup. It’s tempting to stay on Kauai, but she has obligations back in Los Angeles.

Life gets more complicated when circumstances keep putting her close to Leonardo Medici. Not only is he drop-dead gorgeous, he’s a local celebrity. But Kaitlyn can’t shake the feeling he’s hiding something.

Should she believe the rumors that he’s romancing half the island’s single women?

Or is the random sound of wind chimes when he’s close-by a sign that an angel is near and the secret to her happily ever after?

A delightful story of family and the love that binds them.

This story is lovely. It has all the feel good moments and will have you smiling all the way through. The story has great pacing and ever greater characters! I love the wittiness and playfulness the characters have with each other. I also love where the story is set in. I imagine beautiful landscapes! *sighs dreamily* Most importantly, the close bond between the families.

This is my first Mary Ting book and it won’t be my last! If you love romances that make you happy and feel good, this book is for YOU! Get cozy with it today! I give this 5 stars.

Alice: The Wanderland Chronicles #1 by J.M. Sullivan – My Review

Title: Alice: The Wanderland Chronicles #1

Author: J.M. Sullivan

Release Date: March 20th 2020

Genre: Young Adult, Sci-Fi

Alice Carroll hardly remembers life before the plague. When the undead first crawled from their graves, it was like a nightmare. When they killed her mother, the nightmare became shockingly real. Now her sister Dinah has contracted the ‘un-deadly’ virus and without a cure, soon she’ll be worse than dead.

She’ll be Momerath.

To save her sister, Alice must leave the safety of the Sector and venture into Momerath territory in search of an antidote – if it exists. Chasing a rumor about a mysterious doctor with a cure, Alice falls down the rabbit hole into Wanderland, where ravenous Momerath aren’t the only danger lurking.

Alice is a fabulous twist on a classic we all love. One of my favorite things about this book is that its set in Arizona! Ah its the little things. The story is both entertaining and unique with some really great characters. I didn’t like all of them. You’ll know why once you read the book. Going in I wasn’t sure what to expect, seeing as the author put a dystopian twist on a classic. It totally worked and blew my mind! Theres also a ton of scenes that will get your pulse racing! Danger, suspense and action oh my! The twists that were revealed gave me the chills. I did not see any of that coming!

This is a wonderful read from beginning to end. Did I binge read this book? Yes I did. Its that good! I can’t wait to read the next one. I give this 5 stars!

Broken Glass (The Wanderland Chronicles Book 2) by J.M. Sullivan – My Review

Title: Broken Glass (The Wanderland Chronicles Book 2)

Author: J.M. Sullivan

Release Date: March 20th 2019

Genre: Young Adult, Sci-Fi

The scariest thing about Wanderland isn’t death–it’s the Momerath.

And now Dinah is one of them.

***

Alice Carroll has spent the better part of her life avoiding Wanderland–and the Momerath–at all costs. But now with her sister gone, Alice has only one place to go.

Back to Wanderland.

Armed with only her blade and a raging vendetta against the traitorous Red Queen, Alice storms the undead wasteland to find Dinah and atone for her mistakes. But with relentless Momerath and a ruthless Queen encroaching, will Alice’s determination be enough? Or will she fall down a new rabbit hole searching for revenge?

Broken Glass picks up right where book one ended. The worst has happened and Alice feels responsible. She wants to fix it but there is much more at stake.

I love Chess! We needed him! I had to mention that before I moved forward with my review. Alice has been through so much. I like how she wants to do the right thing and still has hope in a world that is filled with betrayal and danger. Some new characters are introduced and there’s one I don’t care for. Maybe that will change with the next book. Maybe. So much adventure. More truths revealed. The suspense and action scenes had me gripping my kindle hard. My heart was definitely racing! That ending….had me saying wow. I definitely need the next book NOW!!

Delightful read all the way through! Another fab binge read! This series will have you hooked. I love the authors storytelling and will be diving into the next book soon! I give this 5 stars.

When Alice defeated the Red Queen, she thought the worst was over.

But now, there is a new threat creeping in on Alice, one that leaves her facing an impossible choice.

It’s so hard to say goodbye….

The conclusion of this wonderful series has me all in my feels. These characters and I have been through so much! Sigh. I have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand, I NEEDED to know how it ends but on the other hand, I didn’t want it to end. This book is highly emotional. While I loved it, there were certain things that happened that made me yell out loud. Did I curse the author? Yes. Yes I did. She knows why! The story is a rollercoaster ride of danger, action and suspense. It will have you on the edge of your seat and also have you reaching for tissues! This series is a must read and I highly recommend it. What a ride! Thank you Miss Sullivan for writing this amazing series. I give this 5 stars!

After All I’ve Done by Mina Hardy – My Review

Title: After All I’ve Done: A Novel

Author: Mina Hardy

Release Date: November 10th 2020

Genre: Psychological Thrillers

Writing as Mina Hardy, New York Times bestselling author Megan Hart delivers a thrilling new psychological suspense for fans of The Woman in the Window and When the Lights Go Out.

She’s lost her best friend, her husband–and possibly, her mind.

Five months ago, an accident left Diana Sparrow badly injured and missing a few months of her memory. As if that’s not enough, she’s started having recurring nightmares about the night of the accident. Dreams that feel so real, she’s left questioning: maybe she didn’t just slide off the road into a ditch. Maybe, just maybe, she hit something. Or someone.

She can’t turn to her former best friend Val, who’s been sleeping with Diana’s husband Jonathan for months, but she might find some comfort in newcomer Cole Pelham. Yet the closer they become, the more Diana begins to wonder what really happened that night–and how Cole might be connected. Worse, it seems everyone else could be involved, too.

Who was with her that night? What really happened? As her life unravels thread by thread and the dreams become too real to ignore, Diana will have to face the unthinkable–and do the unforgivable.

After All I’ve Done is a fast paced thriller that will have your heart racing and rapidly turning those pages!

Right from the start, the story had me in its clutches. It didn’t let go till the very end. This book is one crazy ride and I was there for it! There are many questions about what had happened to Diana. As the story went on, I found myself not liking any of the characters. They were all bad people and some were more irritating than others. This might be weird to say but it didn’t take away from the story. In fact, it enhanced the story and the mystery in solving what happened that night. Towards the end, there was an urgency to find out how all the pieces fit and boy was I surprised! That was one twist I did not see coming. Very nice Miss Hardy.

This is a fantastic and thrilling read! It’s entertaining and an ending you won’t see coming. I can promise you that. The cover is very eye catching and pretty. I know this author is using a different pen name and I hope she continues to write more of these types of books. I look forward to reading more by Miss Hardy. I give this 5 stars.

Touching. Heartbreaking. Emotional.

You ever read a book that touches your soul? Losing Control is that book for me. I’ve been Lucy. A lot of what Lucy experiences resonated with me. There’s a pattern. You don’t see it until it’s too late. Many emotions such as anger and sadness were felt while reading. That’s a good thing! Miss Powell did an amazing job in channeling all the emotions and feelings that go into Lucy’s journey. It isn’t an easy topic and one that happens more than we care to admit. Bravo to the author for taking such a subject on!

I highly recommend this book. This is powerful read and it’s wonderfully written. Make sure you have some tissues handy as this book may have you ugly crying! I give this 5 stars.

This book hooked its fangs into me and didn’t let go till the end! A fangtastic ride! I loved both Raven and Ozi. Raven was relatable and I love how vulnerable she is at times and very human with a good heart. At first Ozi came across very cocky but he started to show a different side to him and I think I have a new book boyfriend! Their chemistry was off the charts. I was totally entertained and engaged through the whole book. Those twists!! Oh my were they good!

I am hoping there’s more to come because there are some characters I am curious to know more about. If you’re a Vampire lover like myself, you need to add this book to your TBR! Actually, move it up and read it today! You won’t be disappointed! I give this 5 stars.

Queen of the Underworld: A Dragon Shifter Paranormal Romance (Rise of the Elder Gods Book 1) by Vivienne Savage – My Review

NEW RELEASE

Title: Queen of the Underworld: A Dragon Shifter Paranormal Romance (Rise of the Elder Gods Book 1)

Author: Vivienne Savage

Release Date: October 19th 2020

Genre: Paranormal, Shifter Romance

Vivienne Savage returns to her roots in the much-anticipated followup to the Dawn of the Dragons series. Don’t miss the thrilling continuation.

They made a deal to conceive a child then go their separate ways.
Falling in love wasn’t part of the contract.

Centuries after siring a cub with the dragon-goddess Hel, Ares still can’t get her off his mind. Every war has been fought in her honor, every enemy slain in her name. When he’s invited to the secluded hills of northern California for prime hunting with his adult son, he’s surprised to find the dragoness who got away is already a guest. This time, she won’t escape him.

Hel doesn’t need anyone, least of all the fire dragon who fathered her only son. He’s brash, crude, and…. he’s absolutely delightful in bed. Resisting him should be easy, but he is the dragon-god of war, and there’s never been a battle he couldn’t win.

Incredible read! Between the phenomenal world building and the remarkable storytelling, I was enthralled. Dawn of the Dragons series is one of my favorites and I was delighted that there’s a continuation of it. This story is highly entertaining and steamy! Wonderful characters who are fun and wicked! There are some top-notch one liners in there that had me both laughing and smirking. Loved Hel’s wittiness!

This is a great escape from reality read! I always know I am in for a ride when indulging in one of Miss Savage’s books. I am never disappointed. I highly anticipate the next book. I give this 5 stars.

The Truth in the Lie by A.R. Hadley – My Review

NEW RELEASE

Title: The Truth in the Lie

Author: A.R. Hadley

Release Date: October 16th 2020

Genre: Women’s Fiction, Erotic

SHE WRITES TO MAKE YOU UNCOMFORTABLE.

You think you know truth…

This is not a novel.

This is my life.
Read between the lines.

I’m not a heroine.
I’m human.

Thirty-eight.
Divorced.
Childless.
Working a job that I hate.

I make my own money.
My own way.
No one can keep me safe.
I don’t need a man.
In fact … I hate them.

The only thing that truly satisfies me is the writing.

I write to make you uncomfortable. To strangle you. Because I want you to squirm. I write because without the words … I might die.

You think you know truth…
…but you’re falling for the lie.

The Truth in the Lie is a 59,000-word erotic women’s fiction novel.

Dark and seductive. Alluring and enthralling.

Bree’s journey isn’t a smooth one. She’s plagued by her Inner demons. Secrets. Dark desires. Self loathing. How long can you run from the past? Healing has to begin sometimes. There’s a rawness to this story. I was mesmerized right from the beginning. I dig a dark vibe and I was here for it. I was fascinated from beginning to end. The ending was a pleasant surprise and one I didn’t see coming.

I love Miss Hadley’s delightful storytelling and I excitedly await her next novel! I give this 5 stars.
