Devina, a girl with a dark past and unhealthy coping mechanisms, leads an unconventional lifestyle. What may seem dangerous to some, is down-right intoxicating to others.

Hyacinth, a sweet girl next door who devotes her time to her father and stressful job, generally spends her weekends shrouded in a purple haze and avoiding her boring husband.

Can Devina convince Hyacinth to stand by her side while she navigates a menacing illness or will Devina take both of them down with her thunderstorm of chaos?

5-gold-stars

Oh Devina….

This series is quite addicting! In this book we get Dev’s point of view. So many chaotic thoughts. She’s sort of a survivor. I wanted to protect her! I like that she tries to be a better person. No one is perfect and she knows this, yet she still tries. I rooted for her all the way through! While there was a lot of emotional scenes, the heat factor was still there. Oh my! This book will definitely heat up your night!

Dark and sexy, this book was everything I needed! Devoured it in one sitting! Unputdownable! I give this 5 stars.

I devoured this book in one sitting! It’s sexy and tantalizing. The chemistry between Cyn and Dev is HOT! Each of these characters have their own demons to deal with and that made me love them even more.

This is a dark read which made my little black heart happy! I love me some dark. I enjoyed both the writing and the story telling style of the author. Savvy Rose is a new to me author and I’m already a huge fan! I can’t wait to read more!

If you’re looking for that guilty pleasure read that will leave you wanting more, this book is for you! I give this 5 stars.

Interview with an Author Featuring Rebecca Morman

The Literary Vixen presents…

Joining us today is Rebecca Morman! Her newest release, Jealousy: The third story in The Rivermaid’s Tales released on March 20th.

What inspired you to start writing?

Needing to escape. After my daughter passed away, I had a really hard time coping and since I have always loved writing poetry, I decided to try my hand at something more difficult that would keep me occupied, keep my hands and my mind busy, for far longer than a poem.

What would you say is your most interesting writing quirk?

I don’t think I have any. I mean I have to have the T.V. on but that is an everyday thing, not just when I am writing.

How do you deal with the emotional impact of a book (on yourself) as you are writing the story?

That is an excellent question. As I stated above, I lost my daughter. She was almost three months old and infant loss is something that I find very hard to write about, read about, or even hear about, but it is part of life. It’s not a fair part but still. Anywho, I don’t plot my books. I haven’t since the day I sat down with a notebook and pen and started writing E.R.A, I just let it play in my head like a movie and with that being said, R.a.L, the second book in The HayleAnna RIsing Series was very difficult for me to write. I think it took me somewhere around two months just to write the chapter that the loss happens in and the chapter after it. There would be days when I would sit and stare at the words that had come out and I wouldn’t be able to hold in the tears. I think in the end it ended up helping me though. I think that writing someone completely fictional who dealt with the same pain as me helped a lot because I got to determine how she broke and when. It wasn’t spur of the moment breakdowns every single time that I went somewhere. It was nice to be in control. So, I guess to answer your question, I cry. I let it out like there is no tomorrow and then I get back to work.

How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

So far I have 6 published books and am working on 2 more as we speak. My favorite so far would be a toss up between E.R.A and Jealousy. E.R.A being my first book, it shows just how unprepared and uneducated I was in the whole book writing process. Jealousy is the third story in the RiverMaid’s Tales and it is my latest release! In that book you can definitely see the growth and the amount of effort and hard work that is put into it. I am mostly proud of the amount of growth that I can see.

What books or authors have most influenced your own writing?

Oh good lord. Well when I first started writing it was Amelia Hutchins, now it is not so much her because she is already flying high with her success, but instead it is the other INDIES just like myself who help me believe in myself as an author.

Do you hear from your readers much? What do they say?

Oh yes! Every single day!! I love hearing their insights and thoughts on my work. I absolutely have the best fans in the whole world. They are the greatest most supportive group of readers ever and no matter what they are always encouraging! Even when I mess up royally with something, they find the positive side and root me on for not messing up worse than I did.

What book is currently on your bedside table?

The Inn by James Patterson. My husband bought it for me and it is one of my favorites now. I love all of his work!

Do you have any new series planned?

I do!!! I haven’t given it a name yet, but the gist of it is that it is going to follow a confessions columnist as she does what she does best!

If your book was to be made into a movie, who are the celebrities that would star in it?

Ohhhh that is a seriously good question that I would have to ask my fans!!

What advice would you give to other authors?

Just keep doing what makes you happy. If the story that you have written truly makes your heart happy, it is going to make someone else’s heart happy too and just like that, you’re someone’s favorite author and they hang on to every single word that you write. It is a pretty cool damn feeling!

What is the one thing you want people to know about you and your books?

I want people to know how thankful I am for being given the chance. I want everyone to know how thankful I am for them giving my books a chance. I never expected that writing one story to keep myself occupied would turn into a passion and hopefully someday a career that my husband and I can completely live off of when the kids grow up and move away! Thank you so much for taking the time to interview me. I do greatly appreciate it and wish you amazing luck, happiness, and health!
