She Lied She Died by Carissa Ann Lynch – My Review

NEW RELEASE

Title: She Lied She Died

Author: Carissa Ann Lynch

Release Date: December 4th 2020

Genre: Domestic Thrillers

A gripping new page-turning thriller from the USA Today bestseller!

Best friend. Teenager. Murderer.

A young girl found dead in a neighbor’s field.

A fourteen-year-old who confesses.

Just a child herself, could Chrissy Cornwall really be a cold-blooded killer?

Years later, the murderer is getting out and Natalie Bryers, unable to forget the night of Jenny’s murder, still has questions.

Did Chrissy lie then or is she lying now?  Did she really kill Jenny?  And if so, will she kill again?

I did not expect this book to pull me in the way it did. I didn’t put it down. It consumed me. There was a sense of urgency to get to the end. The pacing of the story is great. I was engaged the whole way through. It’s very well written. The characters were interesting and a bit sinister. I really liked Chrissy. I probably wasn’t supposed to but I hardly follow the rules. There is way more to her than people know. That ending….mind blown! I did not see that coming.

This is a highly enjoyable read and also the kind that will consume you. It’ll grab a hold of you and won’t let go even after you’ve finished. I enjoy this authors writing style and look forward to her next book! I give this 5 stars.

The One Night Stand by Carissa Ann Lynch – My Review

Title: The One Night Stand

Author: Carissa Ann Lynch

Release Date: March 6th 2020

Genre: Psychological Thriller

A night she won’t forget…

When single mum Ivy wakes up to a complete stranger lying next to her, she knows her one-night stand hook-ups have to stop. The encounters mean nothing to Ivy, but for just a short time, they make her forget her own terrible life.

A murder she can’t remember

But then Ivy discovers the stranger in her bed has been stabbed to death, and she is covered in his blood…except Ivy has no recollection of bringing this man home. Could she have killed him?

As she tries to piece together what happened last night, Ivy’s own past returns to haunt her. And secrets can’t stay hidden forever…

It took me a bit to fully get into the story. I wasn’t understanding where and how everything fit together. The pieces were all over the place. The story changes between past, before, and present. I was intrigued by the events happening and hoped the story would pick up and even out. The past of Andrea and Philomena was a nice touch! I think that was my favorite part of the book. It eventually all comes together with twists and turns you don’t see coming. Although the book was a good read, I don’t know how I felt about the ending. That’s more of a personal preference than anything the author did.

This is a quick and good read. This is the second book by this author and I look forward to reading more of her work. I give this 3 stars.

~My Review~

Like, Follow, Kill is a dark and twisted read. From beginning to end, I was captivated and needed to know what would happen next. I did not put this down once! Who needs sleep? The story is chilling and at times disturbing. LOVED it! Totally my kind of read. These characters are well written and helped give life to the story. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it won’t be my last. I give this 5 stars.
